On an area of over 4,000 m², the exhibition offered visitors the opportunity to learn more about proven and innovative technology for the civil engineering sector at first hand. In addition to the numerous live demonstrations, the huge numbers of visitors to the stand – from home and abroad – were able to take part in detailed technical discussions with PERI specialists, in particular finding out more about the extensive PERI engineering and services portfolio.
Success story of the VARIOKIT tunnel formwork carriage continues
Since the introduction of VARIOKIT engineering construction kit, a large number of tunnel projects using a high percentage of system components have been successfully realized. Experienced PERI engineers plan the construction in terms of optimized material usage and customized operations which exactly match the site requirements. As the VARIOKIT components can be used extremely flexibly and are also available in the PERI rental parks, this means solutions are very cost-effective.
Based on the experience gained over recent years together with detailed knowledge of customer requirements, some items have now been added as standard solutions. Up-to-now, the longitudinal girder had consisted of HD 200 heavy-duty props and HDT beams but will be replaced by a travelling beam and V-posts for future project solutions. The travelling beam is lighter and can accommodate the VARIOKIT assembly grid dimensions of 125 mm – it therefore offers higher cost-efficiency with improved adaptability at the same time. As a vertical V-Post, a hollow box profile is used which allows height adjustments in 5‑cm increments. In line with the new travelling beam, a modified lifting and lowering device is also available covers the entire range of tunnel formwork carriage applications as a standard solution.
For the wall formwork, strengthened and high load-bearing RCS rails with DW 26 anchors 26 can be used with immediate effect – specially developed accessories make this possible: through a new anchor loosening unit, the strong anchors can be relieved and now easily released in the subsequent working procedure also when fully loaded. The RCS rails are statically utilized by means of the DW 26 anchors. Thanks to this solution, the number of required tie points have been further reduced and corresponding costs have been avoided.
Likewise presented for the first time in Munich was an 8-circle hydraulic unit which PERI has specially developed for tunnel construction. It is used for lifting and lowering the tunnel formwork carriage along with shuttering and striking the side formwork. The unit is enclosed and thus protected against dirt and dust as well as being equipped with an oil sump.
