Ongoing efforts by local groups, organizations and government agencies at the Kankakee River have helped making it one of the cleanest rivers in the Midwest. Expansions and improvements to the Kankakee Water Treatment Plant ensure that this positive trend will be continued and that the river is protected as a natural resource for the region.
For the construction of the new conical shaped tank of the treatment plant the contractor chose standard rentable components from PERI's VARIOKIT construction kit and employed the MULTIFLEX system for the sloped slabs. The top 14 ft of the slab were elevated above grade and needed to be supported by falsework, which was built using VARIOKIT.
The formwork panels were pre-assembled by PERI and delivered ready to use to the job site.
PERI was chosen to supply the formwork on this project because of our experience in water treatment projects and our creative sales and engineering teams who help solve our customer’s toughest challenges.
